A local race report in 2018 started it all - from first simulator flight to national podiums.
The racing story
Got hooked in September 2018 - a drone race near my hometown, covered by the local newspaper. Too exciting to ignore. First step: a simulator, convinced that flying this fast was flat-out impossible. Kept at it until the thing stayed airborne - and there was no going back.
Built a first freestyle drone, but racing kept pulling. Reached out to a community member in August 2019 just to watch a race - ended up flying it, and the rest is history.
Racing various classes, from whoops to 7″, focusing on an aggressive start with smooth, consistent laps - tight, technical tracks preferred - always aiming to run the most laps of everyone at the event. The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland and the USA are already on the map - more flags added every season.
Since 2026, started a new, fast-growing local drone racing community, bringing fresh pilots into the sport. Also landed 3rd place in the Dutch Championship season - the season that tied it all together.
Beyond the track
Mechanical engineer by trade, solving complex problems with mechanical solutions. Switched up hobbies year after year before deep-diving into FPV - the one that stuck.
Tinkering and problem-solving in our hobby space under the name PUH. With no proper, affordable dedicated racing frame available, DRIPPUH - Drone Racing Innovation Platform for Precision Utilization and Handling - was the answer. Working with suppliers to solve one problem at a time, always on the hunt for the next improvement.
Occasionally playing volleyball, running, enjoying good food and beautiful nature.
